Why Am I Seeing the Error Message: “The Notes Must Be a String” When Placing an Order?

Contents

If you encounter the error message “The Notes Must Be a String” while placing an order on seedbacklink, it usually means that the “Additional Notes” field was filled out using an incorrect format that our system does not accept.

What Causes This Error?

The Additional Notes field only accepts plain text, which includes letters (A-Z) and numbers (0-9). This means you can write simple instructions using words and numbers, such as:

  • “Please process this on working days.”

  • “Kindly write the article with a minimum of 600 words.”

  • “Insert the anchor text in the first paragraph.”

However, if you include symbols or special characters like exclamation marks (!), hashtags (#), quotation marks ("), or other non-alphanumeric characters (such as %, ^, &, *, etc.), the system will reject the input and display the error message:
“The Notes Must Be a String”.

This restriction helps maintain data consistency and prevents issues with our automated order processing system.

How to Fix or Avoid This Error

To avoid receiving this error message:

  • Only use letters and numbers in the Additional Notes field.

  • Do not include any special symbols or punctuation marks.

  • If your note requires using symbols or detailed formatting, you can:

    • Rewrite the instruction in words (e.g., “use the word percent instead of %”), or

    • Contact seedbacklink support for manual assistance.
